It offered best practices on how to complete initial and annual reports, drawing on the experience of ATT States Parties that have updated their initial reports or submitted annual reports.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Ms. Carina Solmirano<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the Head of the ATT Secretariat, provided some opening remarks which highlighted the importance of transparency and reporting in the ATT. She presented the different efforts and initiatives that the ATT Secretariat is undertaking to support ATT States Parties in reporting.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Ms. Rachel Stohl<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Senior Vice-President of the Stimson Center, offered an overview of ATT initial reporting requirements. Her presentation focused on the importance of ATT reporting, presented the main elements of ATT initial reports and provided some good practices on how States Parties can overcome the main initial reporting challenges.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following this introduction on initial reporting, <\/span><b>Ms. Katie Amos<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from the United Kingdom\u2019s Foreign, Commonwealth &amp; Development Office discussed the United Kingdom\u2019s (UK) experience of updating its initial report in 2025. The UK is one of the seven States Parties that have updated their initial reports after submission to the ATT Secretariat. Ms. Amos reflected on the value of updating initial reports, on challenges encountered, and on lessons learned during the UK\u2019s process. She also provided advice for States Parties that plan to update their initial reports.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The focus of the event then shifted to annual reports. <\/span><b>Dr. Andrea Edoardo Varisco<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> provided an overview of ATT annual reporting obligations and presented, in detail, the different sections of the ATT annual report template. He also offered some advice on how to prepare annual reports, as well as some suggestions for States Parties to improve their reporting practices.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Ms. Daniela Ruiz Dom\u00ednguez<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from Mexico\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs outlined Mexico&#8217;s process for submitting annual reports. Mexico consistently submits public ATT annual reports and is one of the ATT regional reporting champions. Learning from Mexico\u2019s annual reporting experience was valuable to other States Parties attending the event.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The clinic was attended by officials and representatives from 20 different States. It was a unique opportunity for States Parties, particularly for those that have not yet reported or have not reported regularly, to learn more about ATT reporting requirements and to learn from the experiences of other peers.
